Description

Pregnancy yoga classes with Lara focus on enhancing your physical, mental and emotional well being, in the months or weeks leading up to the birth of your baby. Classes are suitable from 12 weeks to your due date and no previous yoga experience is necessary.

We will practice yoga postures (modified as needed for your stage of pregnancy), to improve strength and flexibility, in order to stay active throughout your pregnancy and hopefully alleviate some of the common symptoms of pregnancy, such as aches and pains in the back and hips, for example. Also we will prepare your body physically for birth and beyond by practicing pelvic floor exercises.

Breathing exercises are also a very important part of the practice, both to stay calm and reduce stress as well as prepare for labour.

Attending a weekly yoga class also provides a dedicated space and time to focus solely on you and your baby, to bond, as well as meet and make friends with other mums to be.

Practicing yoga can also really help with maintaining quality sleep in pregnancy.

Lara qualified to teach pregnancy yogas in 2008, through Birthright and had her own babies in 2009 and 2011.

Free parking is available at The Pilates Workshop.
