Music Tree offers creative music education for babies, toddlers and children in Islington, with a clear pathway from first musical experiences through to instrumental learning.
Our youngest children begin with First Steps in Music, where babies and toddlers explore music through singing, movement, rhythm, listening and instruments alongside their grown-ups. As children grow, they move into Sing Their Creativity and Sing & Play, gradually becoming more independent, confident and expressive as musicians.
From there, children can progress into small-group and individual instrumental lessons, including piano, violin, guitar and other instruments, while continuing to build strong musical foundations.
Across all of our classes, we believe children learn best when they are given space to listen, experiment, create and take part in their own way. We want music to feel exciting and meaningful, rather than something children are simply asked to perform or get “right”.
Our classes are led by experienced specialist music teachers. Early years groups are kept to no more than 12 children, while our instrumental groups are much smaller, allowing teachers to give children plenty of individual attention.
We also run creative holiday camps, giving children more opportunities to explore instruments, make music together and develop their own musical ideas.
Whether a child is taking their very first musical steps or beginning to learn an instrument, our aim is to help them grow in confidence, musicianship and creativity — and to develop a relationship with music that can stay with them for life.
