Description

I’m Lauren, and I’d love to welcome you and your little one to Wild Minds. We offer nature-based story, and rhyme classes for children aged 0–4 and their guardians. Explore a new theme each week celebrating wildlife through interactive storytelling, music, and hands-on play.

My Story & Mission

As a qualified Further Education teacher with a BSc (Hons) in Animal Behaviour and Welfare, I have always loved science and ecology. But Wild Minds was truly born out of my own personal journey as a mum to my little girl.

Following her birth, I suffered severely with perinatal and postnatal depression. During those overwhelming days, I found it incredibly difficult to talk, and bond with my baby. I created Wild Minds to be the space that I needed back then but couldn't find.

Because of this, my sessions feature specially designed conversation cards during our free-play time. These prompts are there to help facilitate relaxed conversation, removing the pressure and helping to build a beautiful, lasting bond between you and your child in a safe, zero-judgment room.

The Power of Nature & Play

Using my background in animal welfare and ecology, every aspect of the class is designed to harness the incredible, scientifically proven benefits of the natural world:

  • The Microbiome: Early exposure to natural elements, like soil and plants, directly supports the development of a healthy skin and gut microbiome in infants, boosting their immune systems.
  • Lifelong Conservation: Children who experience and love nature early in life grow into adults who actively cherish and protect our planet.
  • Emotional Regulation: Our shared sensory free-play stations build fine motor skills and early confidence. This self-directed play teaches toddlers vital lifelong tools for emotional self-regulation.

Whether you want to support your child’s development, foster a love for wildlife, or simply find a welcoming community of mums who truly get it—I cannot wait to welcome you.

When you arrive if I'm not there ring the bell and I will let you in
