Holistic Beginnings: a nurturing space for you and your baby

Slow down, share a story and enjoy discovering the world together.

Part of Roots & Wings at The Flourishing Tree, Holistic Beginnings is a gentle, story-led class for babies from birth to sitting independently, alongside their parent or carer.

Through sensory experiences, music and shared stories, we create opportunities for calm, loving connection. Think soft scarves, gentle sounds, songs and simple moments of wonder, with time to notice your baby’s responses and follow their lead.

Each session invites you to:

• Enjoy a story brought to life through sensory exploration.

• Share songs, sounds and gentle interaction.

• Notice your baby’s curiosity, expressions and cues.

• Spend meaningful time together, away from everyday distractions.

• Meet other parents and carers in a welcoming space.

There is no expectation for babies to join in in a particular way. Watching, listening, cuddling and resting are all ways of taking part. You are welcome to pause to feed, change or comfort your baby whenever needed.

This is also a space for you. Early parenthood can feel full of demands, so Holistic Beginnings offers time to be alongside your baby, enjoy their company and share the experience with others.

Led by Amanda Hitchen, an experienced primary teacher, former SENCo and holistic practitioner, sessions bring together a love of stories, early learning and wellbeing.

When: First Thursday of every month, 2:00–3:00pm.

Where: Eccleston Village Hall, Kiln Lane, WA10 4RA.

Who: Babies from birth to sitting independently, with a parent or carer.

Easy pram access, small car park on site and road parking available too, changing facilities on site and a small kitchen with kettle and microwave.

Breast feeding, bottle feeding and comfort breaks welcome.

Mats and resources provided, you’re welcome to bring babies favourite blanket or comforter.

Open to Mums, Dads, Grandparents or any other carers.
