READY, STEADY, GO PARENT AND TODDLER GROUP

Forest School

Ready, Steady, Go are pleased to announce that we are now running our weekly Forest School session on a Thursday lunchtime at Maggie's Day Nursery.

Maggie's Day Nursery has a fantastic outdoor area with a purpose built mud kitchen, woodland area, fire pit, goats, bird watching tower and lots more.

This half-term we will spend each session in the woodland area. We will play fun games in the woods, climb trees and use tools, wheelbarrows, guttering, vehicles and other resources to build, create and have fun outdoors. Sessions closer to Christmas will include seasonal activities.

All sessions are age appropriate and encourage pre-school children and adults to have fun, get dirty and learn more nature and the great outdoors.

The planned activities are aimed at helping young children develop their confidence, independence, listening skills and their ability to follow instructions.

The group leader has a Forest School level 3 qualification and has been a primary school teacher working in Derbyshire and Derby based schools for the last 25 years. She also runs Ready, Steady, Go Parent and Toddler Group in Spondon and teaches part-time in a Reception Class.

Refreshments are available for children during the session and, most importantly, time for all to chat, play and develop new friendships.

If your child enjoys getting muddy, exploring the great outdoors and making new friends and having fun, come along and join in the outdoor fun!

As the whole session will be spent outdoors, adults and children must wear suitable outdoor clothing that will keep you warm and dry. All areas outside are well covered but there is space inside if it is not safe to be outdoors.

Please read, complete and return the 'Welcome Letter and Parental Agreement' on registration.
Once you have booked on, Angela Allen will email you more information about where to park at Maggie's Day Nursery and how to access the building for the forest school session.
