PHONICS WITH ROBOT REG

A Phonics with Robot Reg Babes class is a fun, energetic session for babies and parents built around the power of nursery rhymes. Nursery rhymes are an important introduction to literacy and phonics, helping children develop early language, listening, memory, and communication skills. Research shows that children who know several nursery rhymes by age four often become stronger readers later in school.

Each class begins with a familiar welcome song where every baby is greeted by name, helping them feel secure and encouraging recognition and routine. Throughout the session, nursery rhymes are explored using props, movement, and themed activities. Repetition of songs and rhymes supports memory, confidence, and language development.

Action songs and dances encourage babies to listen, learn new words, and join in with movement. Pom poms and visual props are used to stimulate eye tracking and introduce concepts such as object permanence through games of hiding and finding objects.

Instrument time gives babies the opportunity to explore music-making, supporting listening skills and coordination. Visual play, often accompanied by calming classical music, helps encourage focus while supporting visual and brain development.

The class finishes with a goodbye song and a game of peekaboo, ending the session in a fun and positive way.

After the structured activities, parents are encouraged to share books with their babies. Reading together from an early age helps develop vocabulary, listening skills, memory, and understanding of the world, while also creating positive early experiences with language and communication.
