Description
Musical Giants lays the perfect musical foundation for children in EYFS to KS1 — whether to complement existing 1:1 instrumental lessons or to spark their first musical journey.
Using the Kodály and Dalcroze methods, our classes teach essential musical building blocks such as pulse, rhythm, pitch, and early notation skills. Children learn to read and write rhythms and simple melodies, strengthening their understanding of how music is constructed. Through focused aural skills, they develop keen listening abilities, including recognizing different instruments of the orchestra and identifying musical patterns, which broadens their musical horizons and deepens their appreciation.
Kids will:
🎶 Explore and develop their voices — from pitch matching and singing in tune, to experimenting with dynamics and expression — helping them become confident young singers with a growing vocal range.
💃 Move with intention to express pulse, rhythm, dynamics, mood, and structure through music and movement, using their bodies to embody the music they hear.
🌟 Build leadership and creativity skills by leading songs from the singing chair, improvising actions or lyrics, and collaborating in pairs or groups.
😂 Engage in fun musical games, build friendships, and share plenty of laughs along the way!
Our mixed-age classes feature differentiated activities tailored to each child’s ability, not just their age — perfect for siblings attending together.
The later class tends to move at a quicker pace to challenge more advanced learners.
To see real progress, we recommend joining for at least a full term — ideally a full academic year — or for the remainder of the year if starting later.
Give your child the gift of joyful, foundational music learning with Musical Giants, where they’ll grow not only as musicians but as confident, creative individuals!
Our third and final term of the academic year runs from 24th April - 17th July with a break over half term (29th May).
To book on to the full term - please head here https://bookwhen.com/musicalgiants - three-week trial tickets are the only ticket option available via Happity.
Booking info & prices
Unfortunately, the Happity booking system doesn't integrate with our own booking system, so to avoid overbooking of our Musical Miniatures, Musical Giants, and Leytonstone Voices activities, limited tickets are avaliable via Happity. 👉 On our website, you’ll find a full range of ticket options, including: Drop-in tickets Block bookings Flexi-passes (perfect for families who need more flexibility) Low/No income ‘Helping Hands’ tickets Discounted sibling tickets Two Peas in a Pod (ideal for twins!) Musical Miniatures is a small, independent business and every booking directly supports the running and sustainability of our classes — thank you! www.musicalminiatures.co.uk 🧺 What to Bring You’re welcome to bring a blanket or muslin cloth for your child to sit on, as our floor mats are shared between classes. All instruments and props are provided, so there’s no need to bring anything else. 📷 Click with Care Memories are so special, and I love that you want to capture them. Just a little reminder that when we take photos in class, other children can sometimes slip into the background without us realising. If you’re snapping away (which you’re very welcome to do), please just crop or blur any other little ones before posting to keep everyone’s privacy safe. And of course, sometimes popping the camera away and just being in the moment is the loveliest way to enjoy the class too. 🚗 Parking & Access There is free parking available at the church. Please note the car park is locked after the final class of the morning, so be sure to move your vehicle in time. If you're bringing a buggy, bike, or scooter, you're very welcome to bring it inside the building. 👪 Additional Adults If you have a visiting relative or friend who’d like to come along occasionally, they’re very welcome to join free of charge. Just let me know in advance so I can keep an eye on numbers. A gentle plea - Classes offer a lovely chance to catch up and chat with other parents, the only tricky bit is that when lots of conversations happen at once, it becomes hard for me to be heard over the top. There are definitely moments that do lend themselves to a little natter — like when we’re using the percussion bags or dancing with scarves — but if general chit‑chat could be kept to a minimum during the rest of the session, I’d really appreciate it. I hope this doesn’t come across as a killjoy — just trying to make sure everyone (big and small) can enjoy the class. ⏰ If You’re Running Late Please ring the bell firmly when you arrive. I’ll pop out and let you in at the next suitable break between songs. 📅 Cancellation Policy After you have booked via Happity, I will add you to the class via our BookWhen site. For drop-in tickets (including Flexi-Pass), we have a 24-hour cancellation policy. To cancel or reschedule, just use the "My Booking" link in your confirmation email. FYI - If a refund is requested, Stripe’s processing fees are non‑refundable. This means a small deduction (usually around 2–3%) will be applied to cover these costs. Missed the 24-hour window? You’re welcome to gift your space to a friend or neighbour. Just send me their full details (adult name, email, mobile number, child’s name and DOB) in advance and I’ll make sure they feel right at home.
