MESSY BEGINNINGS

Messy Beginnings is messy play with a purpose.

Created by CH Education, our sessions give babies and young children aged 0–4 the freedom to explore, investigate and, most importantly, get messy.

Each week is thoughtfully planned around a different theme and high-quality children’s book, with sensory experiences that encourage children to use their five senses – see, touch, smell, taste and hear.

Behind the mess is a wealth of Early Years experience. Messy Beginnings was created by a qualified teacher and Early Years specialist with over a decade of experience working with young children and supporting their learning and development. Activities are carefully considered to provide playful opportunities to develop language and communication, physical skills, confidence, independence and curiosity.

We believe young children learn best when they are actively involved in their play. There’s no perfect end product and no pressure for children to complete every activity – they can explore at their own pace, in their own way.

We offer two sessions to make sure activities are appropriate for different stages of development:

Babies & younger children – all messy-play materials are edible and taste-safe, so little explorers who investigate with their mouths can safely join in.

2+ years – a wider range of sensory experiences using a mixture of edible and non-toxic materials suitable for older toddlers and preschoolers.

Come ready to explore, discover, play and make plenty of mess – we’ll take care of the clean-up!

Sessions are designed to be messy! Come with spare clothes for both your children and yourself!
