GENTLE EXPLORERS

Gentle Explorers is a brand new baby class, where babies and children take the lead and are able to explore freely. We use a combination or traditional messy play items (but are very mindful about food waste) and natural resources so children can feel connected with nature and parents feel calm and grounded.

The benefits of messy play are endless. As a primary school teacher with over 15 years experience and a mum of 4, I have seen the benefits first hand.

These include:

• Physical development including hand-eye coordination, gross and fine motor skills
• Facilitates brain growth and cognitive skills
• Develops communication and language
• Supports problem solving skills
• Texture acceptance and food exposure reduces food aversion
• Supports emotional regulation, confidence and independence

Classes start gently with a 10 minute arrival window rather than a set time. This allow you to settle in with a hot drink (bring your own lidded cup to help us look after our beautiful planet and keep your little ones safe) and a slice of cake (small extra charges apply)

We are also gentle on the environment. With no single use plastics, everything sourced as sustainably as possible (pre-loved and locally sourced equipment, mindfully foraged natural materials and food / cleaning products bought from refill shops). Furthermore everything is removed my the venue and correctly recycled.

Connection between parents is very important to us. As well as time to enjoy a hot drink and slice of cake with your new mum friends before and after our classes, I also facilitate WhatsApp groups and after class picnics / walks. All of our classes are held at beautiful venues with playgrounds and green spaces attached.

Let us take the stress away for you. Attending our classes means no mess at home to clean up. Leaving the house to play also means that your attention will be solely on your little ones - carving out some precious bonding time and creating beautiful memories.

There is plenty of parking on site. Bring a towel and change of clothes in case your little one gets messy (we have a clean up station). Bring a lidded coffee cup but don't worry if you forget it, we have some.
