EPPING FOREST DISTRICT MUSEUM

Join us to Time Travel through history, meeting lots of fun characters along the way! Aimed at 1 -5 years, but babies welcome. Sessions led, but are relaxed and informal. When you arrive there is a themed play area, colouring and a book nook available for you little one to get stuck in with whatever they would like whilst everyone is arriving. We then gather together on the carpet for songs, before going exploring round the museum! We do treasure hunts, go into the garden, get dressed up and loads more! We then come back for a craft, before finishing with a story. All the activities are based on a historical or nature theme, such as the Stone Age where we meet Woolly Mammoths, or Forests where we experience sights, sounds and textures of trees!

Victoria and Barbara run the sessions, alternating weeks - Victoria is a trained museum learning professional and has been working with 0-18 year olds in museums for nearly 10 years. Barbara is a retired Nursery Manager with over 40 years experience in early years education and child care.

The Epping Forest District Museum is a small, friendly, local museum that is rooted in our community. We make everyone feel at home and love seeing visitors return to the museum.

We have a lift up to the third floor where the activity takes place, and space for pram storage either on the top floor outside the activity room, or downstairs at the front desk. Our front desk team member, Yvonne and Teresa are always happy to help! We also have baby changing in our downstairs toilets.
