BODYSONG & HOKEY COKEY KIDS

Analogue Skills for a Digital Generation.

Have you noticed that children are just as addicted to screens as us adults?!

I'm sure you can agree that we are facing an epidemic of embodied disconnection, lack of focus, absent social skills and decline in IQ.

Hokey Cokey Kids is here to change that.

Through rhythm, song and movement games, we train the next generation to be physically, socially and emotionally confident.

When your child participates in a Hokey Cokey Kids Holiday Camp, they are invited into a playground of musical and physical coordination skills that encourage collective support and individual wins equally.

There will be:

• skipping rhymes
• hand-clapping songs
• thumb wars
• coordination challenges
• folk-dances
• playground songs
• party games
• old-school sports day activities

All designed to encourage your child's hand-eye coordination, whole-body balance, team-work and musicianship, to develop brain-body connection and language acquisition.

Woven into the day, are mini-social moments especially designed for children to practice:

• social skills
• conflict-resolution
• self-reflection
• emotional intelligence
• empathy

Within the 3 hours there's quiet time to digest:

• reading
• collage
• drawing
• writing

There are children's encyclopaedias, anatomy and physiology colouring books, classic children's books like Peter Rabbit and Whinnie the Pooh, as well as children's poetry books.

We always include opportunity for creativity to flourish, be it designing an obstacle course, making up our own dance moves, or making up a team anthem.

The Cherry on the cake is that ALL Hokey Cokey sessions are entirely analogue, screen-free environments. We use CD's and Vinyl for the musical accompaniment to our games! And teachers have 'brick phones', literally a SCREEN FREE SPACE.

Hokey Cokey Kids Holiday Camp offers a uniquely holistic approach to learning the essential life skills of body-awareness, self-confidence, togetherness and FUN!!!
