ACTIVE HANDS EVENTS

In this 3 hours workshop children will create a short, finished mini-comic to take home.

With the help and guidance of comic author Bruna Martini ( Mensch Publishing, Third Bear Press, Aces Weekly, Beccogiallo) children will have the opportunity to become writers, artists and storytellers for the day!

They will:

-   Create their own comic character using their preferred technique, from drawing to painting to doing collage

-   Develop a simple story by writing a short script and sketching a storyboard

-   Learn how panels, speech bubbles and sound effects work

-   Explore how facial expressions and body language communicate emotion

-   Practise turning ideas into sequential images

-   Collect everything in a short comic to take home.

The activities are broken into short, varied exercises alternating between drawing, discussion, games and storytelling. All materials provided.
