Description
How can I parent well in a digital world? – Digital Parenting Course
Hosted by Woodford Baptist Church with guest speaker Ann Burgess from Salway Evangelical Church
Free to attend
Navigating phones, gaming, social media and screen time can feel overwhelming for families today. This two-part course, based on the acclaimed Left to Their Own Devices? resources from Care for the Family, offers encouragement, practical tools and space for honest conversation around raising children in a digital world.
Together we will explore:
- building healthy family habits around technology
- understanding the impact of screens on children and teenagers
- navigating smartphones, gaming and social media wisely
- helping children stay safe online
- creating connection, communication and trust within family life
- modelling healthy digital habits as adults
The course is designed to be supportive, realistic and non-judgemental — whether you are parenting toddlers, primary-aged children or teenagers.
Sessions will include video content, discussion, practical ideas and opportunities to reflect with other parents and carers.
Tea, coffee and refreshments provided.
All parents, carers and grandparents are warmly welcome.
The course runs in two parts, with the first part on 12 July focused on understanding screen addiction and gaming and the second part on 19 July focused on social media including cyberbullying, influencer and pornography, and AI.
