Description

Cinemini is Small World Cinema’s magical first cinema experience for children aged 2-5 and their grown ups. These relaxed, welcoming sessions combine beautifully crafted short films with creative sensory play, offering little ones a gentle introduction to the magic of cinema.

We begin by watching a delightful programme of short films specially chosen for young audiences. The films are mostly without dialogue and include playful animation, artist films and tiny visual stories that capture children’s attention through colour, movement and rhythm. Each child receives a simple bingo-style activity sheet with images from the films, giving them a fun way to watch closely and spot things on screen.

After the screening, the space transforms into our film playground. Children are free to explore hands-on activities inspired by the films, experimenting with light and shadow, colour, reflections and movement. This playful environment encourages curiosity and helps children discover how film works through sensory exploration.

To finish, we watch the films again. Children love recognising moments they spotted during play, and the repetition helps them make joyful connections between what they saw on screen and what they discovered through their own creativity.

The sessions are relaxed and child-friendly, so little ones are welcome to move around, react to the films and enjoy the experience in their own way. Cinemini offers a special shared cinema experience that sparks curiosity, creativity and imagination, with plenty to talk about long after the event ends. 🎬

The venue has pram access and there are 4 car parking spaces in the private parking space right outside the venue. Further (paid) parking on the main road and free parking in the side streets. Various buses stop right outside the venue and Hayes Station is a 10 minute walk away. There are changing facilities at the venue and free coffee/tea/biscuits are served to tired parents and carers.
