SERENITY BABY CLINIC

This in person session is delivered by Sophie who is a senior neonatal nurse and mum to 2. In this session Sophie's aim is to equip you with all the information you need in order to start your breastfeeding journey fully informed in relation to:

• What to expect
• What’s normal
• Potential challenges and how to overcome these
• Along with hints and tips to ensure successful breastfeeding  

This session is a fantastic way to start your breastfeeding journey whether you are a first-time breastfeeding parent, or you have tried previously and would like a different breastfeeding journey this time round.

This session will cover:

• The benefits of breastfeeding 
• Colostrum harvesting – from 37 weeks onward
• The all-important First feed
• Latching and positioning
• Feeding in the early days and nights
• Milk! When the milk comes in, what it’s made up of and why it’s the perfect and adaptive first food for your baby
• The importance of breastmilk for the pre-term baby
• Cluster feeding and growth spurts
• Expressing and storing breastmilk
• Improving your milk supply, oversupply and donating your milk
• How long should you continue to breastfeed  
• Keeping the non-breastfeeding parent involved, how they can support breast feeding, and bond successfully.

Our clinic is based on the first floor, if you have any mobility issues we do have 1:1 home sessions available.
