Scribble Squad – Messy & Mark-Making Baby and Toddler Group Welcome to Scribble Squad, a fun, creative and wonderfully messy play group designed especially for babies, toddlers and their grown-ups. Our sessions are all about giving little ones the freedom to explore, experiment and express themselves through messy play and early mark-making in a safe, relaxed and friendly environment. At Scribble Squad, we believe that learning begins through play, exploration and curiosity. Each session invites children to get hands-on with a variety of exciting materials such as paint, foam, sensory trays, natural materials and different mark-making tools. From splashing and squishing to scribbling, stamping and rolling, little hands can explore textures, colours and movement while discovering how they can make their own marks. Messy play and mark-making are important parts of early childhood development. Through these activities, children strengthen their fine motor skills, build confidence, and begin developing the early foundations needed for drawing and writing later on. Sensory experiences also help support brain development, encourage problem solving, and expand language skills as children describe what they see, feel and create. Our sessions are designed to be open-ended and child-led, meaning there is no right or wrong way to play. Babies and toddlers can explore at their own pace, follow their curiosity and enjoy the freedom of making a little mess along the way. Whether it’s swirling paint with their fingers, making tracks with toy cars, stamping shapes or experimenting with different textures, every activity encourages creativity and discovery. Scribble Squad is also a welcoming space for parents and carers to connect, chat and enjoy quality time with their little ones. It’s a chance to slow down, play together and watch your child’s imagination grow. Very limited parking right outside the hall but there is a car park about 2 minutes from the venue!
