Spring is arriving and we’re celebrating with a joyful afternoon of music, crafts and dancing 🌸
Join Mini Folk and Hackney Folk Club for a special Spring Equinox Day Festival – a relaxed afternoon gathering filled with live music, creativity and community. Running from 1.30–5.30pm, this extended event offers a variety of activities so families and music lovers can drop in, stay a while, or enjoy the whole afternoon.
Expect live Eastern European folk music, a craft table for little makers, singalongs, trad sessions, dancing and plenty of chances to join in. With activities throughout the afternoon, there will be something for all ages.

Live Music – Dunajska Kapelye
DUNAJSKA KAPELYE perform an irresistible mix of Balkan and Gypsy folk, Hot Club jazz, Klezmer and Tango, led by Piotr Jordan’s violin alongside Zac Gvirtzman on accordion and clarinet.
Expect a joyful ride through Eastern European folk traditions, from Romanian wedding dances and drinking songs to haunting Gypsy ballads, all infused with dazzling improvisation.

Crafts & Family Activities
Celebrate the season with spring-themed crafts for children and families, including animal portraits made with leaves, natural textures and sparkles. Kids can also make shakers and simple instruments to enjoy in the music corner.
About the organisers
Hackney Folk Club celebrates the many folk traditions that make up London’s rich cultural landscape, hosting sessions, dances and performances at Chats Palace.
Mini Folk creates welcoming daytime live music spaces for babies, toddlers, parents, carers and anyone who enjoys a relaxed afternoon of music and creativity.
We have a buggy area in entrance but due to limited space we kindly ask you to fold buggies on arrival where possible, Venue will have refreshments available during event Photography and video recording will take place at our events for promotional, marketing and archival purposes. This may include use on our website, social media channels.Anyone who does not wish for their child to be photographed or filmed, they must inform door staff upon arrival. We will ensure that the child is identified to staff and excluded from promotional photography and filming wherever reasonably possible.We will take reasonable steps to respect these requests and to avoid capturing or publishing images of children whose parents have opted out. Parents and carers are asked to be mindful of other families when taking their own photographs or videos. All children must remain the responsibility of their parent or designated carer during events. Please help us keep our events nut free, for with allergies safe.
