Description

Marks in the Making is a calm, welcoming sensory and play class designed for babies and toddlers to explore freely at their own pace.

Created by Rebecca, a full-time working mam and experienced primary educator with 18 years in early years and primary education, these sessions were born from a very real place — navigating early motherhood during the pandemic, when baby groups felt hard to access and often overwhelming.

Rebecca understands first-hand what it feels like to arrive at a class slightly flustered, hoping you’re on time, wondering if your little one will settle, and just needing a coffee and a moment to breathe. That experience is at the heart of everything these sessions aim to offer.

At Marks in the Making, there is no pressure for children to sit still or “perform”. Instead, little ones are invited to explore carefully curated sensory activities designed to spark curiosity, support development, and encourage confidence through play.

Each session is kept intentionally small and calm to create a relaxed environment for both children and grown-ups. It’s a space where you can step away from the rush of everyday life, connect with your child, and enjoy the simple joy of watching them explore.

Whether your little one is crawling, toddling, or confidently running into every corner of the room, they are welcome just as they are.

For parents, it’s a space where you can exhale a little — even if you’ve had no sleep, are running on coffee, or arrived with snacks and chaos in tow. You’re not alone here.

Marks in the Making is about more than just play. It’s about creating a gentle start to childhood, and a supportive space for the grown-ups who are right there in it too.

We can’t wait to welcome you.
