LITTLE STAR SWEEPERS BABY MASSAGE

🌟 This is an interactive, 5-week, small group course where you will learn the strokes to massage your baby. You will learn theory about how to recognise when your baby is ready for a massage, understanding your baby's cues, the benefits of baby massage, and a routine to help relieve colic. You will also have the opportunity to connect with other parents over some much needed tea, coffee, and snacks!

There is no minimum age for your baby to attend (premature babies who have been discharged home are also welcome), but babies must be no older than 12 months. You are welcome to come with your partner, relative, or friend for support, but only the parent or primary caregiver will be giving the massage in the session - babies tend to fall in love with the person massaging them and we want that to be you! 

Who is behind Little Star Sweepers?

My name is Dominique Al-Hindawi, I am an NHS doctor working in paediatrics and I am a student Instructor with the International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM). I have several years' experience working with babies, children, and young people and strive to create a safe, non-judgemental, and inclusive space for parents and caregivers to connect with their babies. I am Enhanced DBS checked and European Paediatric Advanced Life Support trained, so your baby is safe with me. 

As I am a student instructor running this course as part of my IAIM Infant Massage Instructor qualification, this course is offered for free in exchange for your commitment to attend a total of 5 sessions and provide anonymous feedback via a parent evaluation form at the end of the course. All strokes and theory taught during the course will be according to the research-backed IAIM programme. 🌟

What do I need to bring?
Everything you would normally bring when heading out with your baby! Babies tend to get thirsty during the massage so please make sure you have enough milk available if you are bottle feeding. If your baby is in the mood for a massage (there's no guarantee they will be during our sessions and that's okay), you will be undressing them so please dress them in something that is easy to take off and bring spare nappies. I will be providing a soft mat for your baby to lie on and a cushion for you to sit on (there will also be chairs available if you prefer) but please bring your own baby blanket. Organic coconut oil will be provided for you for the massage.
