Sensory Seekers 🌈 | Develop and Discover

Our Sensory Seekers sessions are designed for children and young people who benefit from high-energy sensory input to help them feel calm, regulated, and ready to explore.

Led by a specialist SEND teacher, these sessions provide a safe, inclusive and understanding environment where children can be themselves with no pressure, no expectations, and no judgement.

At Develop and Discover, we follow two key principles:

Stage Not Age – meeting children where they are developmentally, not by their chronological age

Regulation Before Expectation – supporting the nervous system first so children feel safe and ready to engage

✨ What to expect:

Access to spinning, bouncing and movement-based equipment

Opportunities for big body play to support regulation

Sensory tuff trays including edible and tactile play

Water play and messy exploration

A predictable, calm and low-demand structure

Gentle invitations to engage – children can join in or simply observe

This session is ideal for children who:

Seek movement such as spinning, jumping or climbing

Enjoy hands-on, active sensory experiences

May feel overwhelmed in busy or unpredictable play environments

We understand that every child is unique. Whether your child dives straight in or prefers to watch from a safe space, being in the room is participation.

👨‍👩‍👧 Important Information:

Suitable for children with SEND (diagnosed or not)

One adult attends per child (additional adults can be arranged)

Small group sizes to maintain a calm, supportive environment

Fully accessible venue with changing facilities

Sessions are child-led and flexible to individual needs
