GROWING SUDLEY CIC

Therapeutic garden and therapy centre, for community wellbeing through nature

What Growing Sudley CIC says

Growing Sudley CIC is a not for profit community business based in Sudley Estate, a small public park in south Liverpool. Our mission is community health, wellbeing and play through nature.

Since 2017 we’ve worked with the local community to bring the previously abandoned Victorian walled garden back to life. The garden is maintained by a team of volunteers, and enables urban connection to nature through forest school, therapeutic horticulture, nature therapy, community herbalism and much, much more!

In 2025, we opened The Changing Rooms Therapy and Wellbeing Centre, a low-carbon retrofit of the old derelict changing rooms building (previously Sudley Estate’s animal husbandry building) creating a calming and restorative space for wellbeing and health. The Changing Rooms is part of the wider social enterprise, with profits supporting our therapeutic work in the walled garden.

Our ethos across the whole of the organisation is strongly centred around the environment and the protection of nature. We do not use damaging chemicals and pursue a permaculture approach to our work. We take the effect of our actions on nature into account across all our work and focus on the principles of people, planet and social and environmental justice.
