Hello, I’m Laura.
I’m a qualified primary school teacher with 10 years of experience, and I’m also a mam to two daughters. My daughter Thea is 6 years old, and Harper is 1. My teaching journey began with nursery and reception-aged children, and my passion for early years education has been reignited as I’ve watched my own children grow and develop. Thea was born during lockdown, and the challenges of not being able to attend classes or get out and about made me even more determined to do things differently with Harper.

I’m thrilled to bring Counting Kids to Tynedale and Derwent. I know how precious quality time with your children is, and I’m excited to offer that through my classes. You’ll also have the chance to watch your child learn and grow. Our classes focus on fundamental maths skills such as counting, comparing, composition, and shape, space, and measure—laying a strong foundation for when your child starts school. Research shows that early maths skills are crucial for later academic success, even more so than early reading skills.

During our classes, your child will be guided by our lovable mascots, Digit and Dot, through singing, dancing, and play. They won’t even realize they’re learning!
